Join me in Chilean Patagonia to photograph the elusive puma!
In the Southern reaches of Chile, we are greeted by ferocious winds, dazzling granite towers and some of the purest air on the planet. This beautiful and harsh environment is home to a healthy puma population, that thrives at the top of the food chain within a challenging ecosystem. Embark on a small group photo tour where we’ll utilize extremely capable 4×4 vehicles to access an extensive private land reserve adjacent to the world famous Torres del Paine National Park. This region of Patagonia has become known for being the best place to view and photograph pumas in the wild, and I’ve made arrangements to maximize our chances for enjoyment and success throughout this epic adventure.
Pumas are most active in the early morning and late evening hours, which on occasion can coincide with golden hour for photography. Our daily routine will include surveying their favourite hunting grounds at a private estancia, where we’ll stay in radio contact with the world’s most renowned puma trackers to try and photograph these beautiful cats at close range. With a small group size of six, we’ll have a maximum of three guests per 4x4 to comfortably move around the landscape.
We will have seven full days of puma tracking amidst the most dramatic landscapes you’ve ever seen, fully immersed in the wild and iconic Torres del Paine region. While pumas will be the focus, and will require the majority of our time, there will be plenty of other photographic opportunities to capture the landscapes and additional wildlife that make their home in Patagonia.
